About the Journal

The peer-reviewed electronic journal Nová čeština doma a ve světě [The New Czech at Home and Abroad] continues the long tradition of the journal it succeeded, Čeština doma a ve světě [Czech at Home and Abroad]. Nová čeština doma a ve světě is indexed within the official list of peer-reviewed non-impact journals published in the Czech Republic. NČDS publishes articles and reviews devoted to various linguistic disciplines related to Czech. The journal is published biannually and provides a platform for established scholars, as well as graduate students. Articles are published in either Czech or English.

FOCUS AND OBJECTIVES

The journal focuses on Czech in all its forms. The primary theme is Czech in relation to other languages, and articles often deal with Czech as a foreign or additional language, Czech pedagogy – both at home and abroad – for non-native speakers and heritage speakers, as well as issues in translation.

One aim of NČDS is to provide expert feedback to young scholars on their work; many graduate and doctoral students have their first publications with NČDS.

Since 2017, NČDS has been an open access journal. Its content is available at no charge. Users are free to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search and cite articles without having to obtain permission from the publisher or author.. The magazine is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 2.0.

No fees are charged for manuscript submission, processing, and publication.
